Assembly

Whether or not you consider yourself a singer, everyone in Worship is a member of the most important choir at St. Al’s: the gathered assembly. All of our music making seeks to support and enhance the one voice of this community giving thanks for God’s grace. So, keep singing!

Cantor

Cantors serve the vital role of leading the assembly’s song at each weekend and festival Mass, as well as weddings and funerals. Music reading or strong ear skills are encouraged. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:15p-7:00p in the Music Room for the coming weekend Masses.

Chorale

This mixed-voice choir rehearses Wednesdays from 7:45-9:00p in the Music Room, and sings twice a month at the 10:30am Sunday Mass as well as festival days as announced. Repertoire includes a broad range of traditional, contemporary, and world music.

Contemporary Praise Choir (CPC)

This mixed-voice ensemble rehearses Tuesdays from 7:00p-8:30pm in the Music Room, and sings twice a month at the 5:00p Saturday Mass as well as festival days as announced. Repertoire is focused on the Contemporary Christian genre.

Exultation

This mixed-voice chamber ensemble rehearses Wednesdays from 6:50-7:45p in the Music Room, and sings once a month at the 8:30a Sunday Mass as well as festival days as announced. Repertoire is more advanced, and comes from a wide range of compositional styles.

Kerigma

This mixed-voice ensemble rehearses Saturday mornings at 9:00a and Sunday mornings at 11:00a in the Music Room, and sings weekly at the 12:30p Sunday Mass. Repertoire is primarily in Spanish, and comes from Latin American traditions. Resurrection Choir

This mixed-voice ensemble sings at any Mass of Christian Burial or Memorial Service, upon request by the bereaved. Rehearsal takes place immediately prior to the funeral, and attendance is flexible. For more information, contact Carol Vickery at cvickery.purple@gmail.com or 763/560-7375

St. Charles Lwanga Jumuiya Choir

This mixed-voice ensemble meets in conjunction with the St. Charles Lwanga Prayer Group on alternate Saturdays from 4:30p-7:30p in the Parish Ministry Center, and sings at the Swahili Mass one Sunday a month at 2:00p. St. Josephine Bakhita Choir (SJBC)

Sunday Night Praise

This mixed-voice ensemble sings twice a month at the 5:30p Sunday Mass,and rehearses at 4:00p on the Sundays it is scheduled. Repertoire comes from the Contemporary Christian genre.

Thursday Evening Prayer Group

This mixed-voice ensemble rehearses in conjunction with the Thursday evening Spanish-language prayer group, and sings each week at the 6:30p Thursday Mass. For more information, contact Luz Zagal at latinoministry@mystals.org or 763/503-3326.

Youth Choir

This mixed-voice choir of young people in grades 8-12 meets on Wednesdays from 6:00-6:45p. Repertoire is selected in part by the ensemble, and features a variety of languages and styles.

Bellissimo!

This three-octave handbell ensemble rehearses Mondays from 7:00p-8:30p, and plays once a month in a weekend Mass. Prior ringing experience is not required, and occasional ringers are welcome. 

Heavenly Praise Ringers

This three-octave handbell ensemble for young adults rehearses Mondays from 5:00p-6:30p, and plays once a month in a weekend Mass.
